History
Trinidad and Tobago Architects Arthur Bowles and Gerard De Four established the Synthesis Group in October 1999. Our goal is to achieve an enriching architectural experience and projects of enduring quality for our clients and community.
We believe that architectural integrity results from the “Spirit” of the individual and unique contexts connecting clients, site and culture; we also believe that creativity and good design result from a well-organised process that produces a wide variety of options for the most informed decisions.
Foundation
The foundation of our practice is the pursuit of spirited designs that are achieved through one of our core values of “Sustainable Solutions For The Built Environment”. Our strategy to achieve this goal is through collaboration and teamwork, shared values, connection, ingenuity and designs.
We employ the principles of proportion and have formed associations with multidisciplinary teams, inclusive of other architectural firms, engineers, quantity surveyors, and a number of independent specialist consultants, who share our goals and values.

The Synthesis Group is dedicated to serving the needs of our Clients. We believe in the power of communication -- we ensure that our clients are aware of our progress at each stage – we share information, are open to advice and suggestions that can yield return on investments.
The Group is committed to service by constantly refining and improving controls and planning techniques, and keeping aware of industry and global standards. In so doing, The Synthesis Group will endeavour to be at the forefront in architectural designs. Our Vision is to establish quality sustainable designs that will leave an architectural footprint on Caribbean Architecture.
Processes
We seek to develop processes that are fluid, focused on bringing together the goals of the client and potential users of the site. We believe in the process-driven approach of project management. As we research methodologies that enhance our service level to our clients, we are now focused on the “LEED” approach, ensuring all our products are energy and environmentally friendly.
We are focused on sustainability and have now adopted the process of value analysis whereby all elements of our designs are analyzed seeking cost reductions for our clients. We do not just take facts as a given, we analyze each aspect, and elements that add no value are removed . Our portfolio of projects spans several industries inclusive of education, health, commercial and corporate, residences and the industrial sector. Our designs take many forms with the major factor being the environment.
